Positive Behaviour Support Therapy (PBST) is a person-centred approach aimed at enhancing the quality of life and minimising challenging behaviours for individuals with disabilities. Our PBS therapy focuses on understanding the function of behaviours and implementing evidence-based strategies to promote positive change. Instead of focusing on punishment or trying to stop certain behaviour, PBS therapy looks for positive ways to support the participant. This might involve teaching them new skills to cope with difficult situations or changing the environment to make things easier for them. Our therapists create personalised plans to support participants. These plans might include things like teaching participants new communication strategies, providing them with sensory tools to help them calm down, or creating a structured routine to reduce anxiety.

  • Children: 0 - 18
    Adults: 18 - 65+

  • Sessions with the PBS practitioner will be aligned with the participant's NDIS plan goals and objectives to ensure that the services provided are in line with their approved funding and support needs.

  • Tailor treatment plans to the unique needs, goals, and abilities of each NDIS participant. Recognising that what works for one person may not work for another, and adapt accordingly.

  • Collaborate with the participant and their support network to establish clear, realistic, and measurable goals. These goals should be meaningful and relevant to the participant's life, such as improving mobility, reducing pain, or enhancing independence.

  • Consider the participant's physical, emotional, and social well-being. Address not only their physical impairments but also their overall quality of life and participation in community activities.

  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals, such as occupational therapists, speech therapists, and psychologists, to provide comprehensive care that addresses all aspects of the participant's health.
